Happy Halloween!

While the Open is in full swing, a spooky-themed workout is probably not top of the priority list. However, in the spirit of the holiday, here’s a list of what crazy parties, workouts and bashes gyms have pulled off in the past and present.

Hopefully one will inspire you for upcoming holidays and events this year and give you ideas for Halloween next year.

In 2017, the gym released a video for a “Jigsaw” Halloween Workout. Nodding to the movie “Saw,” you could choose your horror between two workouts:

In years past, the gym threw a spooktacular bash. At 7 p.m. the day of the party, athletes arrived to find Coaches fully costumed and ready to workout. Everyone did a WOD together, followed by a potluck. Games, prizes and fun with friends is what the website advertised.

The October OUT-FIT Halloween WOD was a team event. When members showed up, teams were created and the WOD announced. While costumes weren’t mandatory, they were highly encouraged.

The event rundown looked like this:

Date: Sunday, October 15
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; two heats
Location: Crossfit NYC Flatiron
Coaches: Coach Todd & Coach Erica
Format: Teams – assigned upon arrival

Taking advantage of the Open being in October this year, the gym decided to combine Halloween with 20.4 on November 1 from 4 to 11 p.m., as stated on its website: “With the CrossFit Games Open being in the fall this year, we thought it would be fun to combine the two events into one fun and spooky night! We will have food, drinks, decorations, a bonfire and party games after everyone has finished up the workout. Bring a dish to share if you’d like and make sure to dress up. We look forward to seeing you all for our annual Halloween Bash.”

What tips, tricks and treats can you pull from the above events to spice up the going-ons in your Box?
