Episode 81: Media and Events at Widespread CrossFit

CrossFit gyms are known for their events.

But few have a designated events director. Widespread CrossFit is one of those gyms and Kari Kirkendall, a co-owner of the Box, has taken on that role.

As the media and events director, she oversees social media posts, planning gym events, etc. The reason for this role is simple: the Box sees events as important to building community, and with prior experience in event planning, Kirkendall knew she could do it well.

In this episode of Box Talk, Kirkendall shares how she to came into this industry and how she goes about planning events. She also discusses epic tie-dye parties, keeping your cool when mistakes happen and how to get Coaches to contribute content for social media.
