Do you ever wonder what your day looks like compared to other Affiliates? Box Pro Magazine asked Jeff Burlingame, the owner of Friction CrossFit in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to share what a typical day in his life looks like:
“Everyday I wake with purpose. I am not an early riser by choice. But if the day calls for it I will.
Ideally I wake when my two little girls — 2 and 4 years old — do. They usually get me up at 6 or 6:30 a.m. I make the family breakfast, and then sit down with a nice cup of French Pressed coffee. This time is crucial. I catch up on emails and social media on my phone as I slowly get up to speed.
After my coffee is done, I get my gear together for the day and head over to the gym, usually around 8:30 or 9 a.m. I live 20 minutes away. On the drive I listen to business podcasts or books to continue learning.”
“When I get to the gym, I set up my laptop in the office and pull up Wunderlist. I have several lists going, including a list for each staff member. From here, I determine when tasks are the MOST important and put them on a whiteboard for the day.
At this point it may be 10 a.m., so I pick a BIG WIN task and try to knock that out. That could be calling a new prospect, rearranging the gym or posting an ad for a new program. When I do this task I gain momentum to take on the rest of the day.
After that I start my workout. This usually takes one to two hours, and ideally I end around noon or 1 p.m.
I eat a meal from our local meal prep company, drink a shake from our supplement company Driven, and get back to work. Often, I will have a few calls with other business owners at this time. I take these mentoring calls between 12 and 4 p.m.”
“After that, I get some computer work done — usually website, ads, SOP or video content. By 5 or 6 p.m. I just mingle with the members and hangout. I usually leave before 7 p.m. daily.
I get back home by 7:30 p.m., help my wife put the girls to bed, then hang out with her from 8 to 10 p.m. I get to bed by 10:30 p.m. most nights.”
