Independence Day is here!
We want to celebrate America’s birthday by highlighting some of the events happening at CrossFit Boxes around the country this week. Take a peek at what other Affiliates are doing in order to celebrate, and see how you can apply these events to the rest of the summer, or even next year.
The gym is closed on the July 4, so the team is encouraging members to participate in the Coronado Independence Day 15k run or 5k run/walk. It’s happening in Tidelands Park, Coronado. The idea started with the Invictus Endurance members group, but the entire gym has been invited to join. Learn more.
Closed on July 4, the gym is also encouraging members to register for a 5k race it is hosting. Following the race, there will be food trucks, keg toss, inflatables and more. Plus, the entire week of fourth of July, CrossFit 843 has dubbed as Hero Week. Each day celebrates the lives of fallen soldiers via a Hero WOD.
At this gym, it’s all about members’ choice. The gym posted eight different WODs that members could vote on via Facebook. The winner will be preformed at the gym’s Fourth of July event.
The gym decided to be a bit humorous in its announcement it was closed for July 4: “Yeah yeah yeah, we are forcing you to take an off day on July 4th. The gym will be closed because ‘Merica.’” However, there will be a celebration at the gym where family and friends can come together for food and fireworks.
The gym is hosting only 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. classes and they are doing the partner Hero Wod, “Chuck Sweaty:”
20 Minute AMRAP (I go, you go)
5 Pull-ups (Strict if possible)
3 Wall walks
